Welcome to the iTried.org public beta!
Welcome to iTried.org, even though we're still best classified as beta! The purpose of iTried.org is to provide a community driven rating service for Mac accessories, peripherals and other gadgets, and our mission is to ensure that no Mac user ever gets disappointed again as regards hardware compatibility & quality.
At the time of writing, the following features are supported:
- Browsing the iTried.org database by product category or by manufacturer
- Full-text searching for products
- Adding new products to the database
- Rating products and adding comments
- Editing product information (even if products are created by others). A new revision is created and the edit is logged to ensure that a misbehaving soul won't be able to ruin the fun for all through malicious editing.
Adding products, ratings & comments requires registering and logging in.
In addition, the sidebar blocks provide quick links to products you've rated yourself, viewing recently added products, recent comments and most commented products.
Things that are missing/incomplete at the moment:
- OpenID doesn't really work. Let me know if you manage to log in via your OpenID provider.
- The site layout was created by a software dude, not a graphics professional. Expect improvements on this area as well.
- Better category navigation. I am not entirely happy with the way it works now.
Any other suggestions and feedback is welcome in the comments.
In the mean time, feel free to roam around and express yourself by rating and commenting on the products that you have firsthand experience with. Bear in mind the essential question that describes the iTried.org value for a specific product:
